Celebrating National Dog Day: August 26!

Woof woof! August 26 is one of our favorite days of the year because it is National Dog Day—a day dedicated to celebrating our furry friends who bring so much joy, love, and companionship into our lives. We love spending time with our pups and showing affection everyday but National Dog Day gives us even more of a reason to love on them. Join us in the fun today! Whether you're a dog parent or just a dog lover, today is the perfect day to honor our canine companions!

Why Celebrate National Dog Day?

Founded in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige, National Dog Day recognizes the many ways dogs enrich our lives. It’s also a day to raise awareness for dogs in shelters waiting for their forever homes. Let’s celebrate the dogs we love and support those still looking for a family.

Fun Ways to Celebrate

  1. Spoil Your Pup: Treat your dog to a special day with extra walks in their 2 Fur Doodie, new toys, or a relaxing doggy spa session.
  2. Teach a New Trick: Strengthen your bond and have fun by teaching your dog a new trick or skill.
  3. Share the Love: Post cute photos of your dog on social media using #NationalDogDay and #2FurDoodie to spread joy.
  4. Support Shelters: Donate to or volunteer at a local animal shelter, or consider adopting a dog.
  5. Organize a Playdate: Arrange a playdate with other dogs for some fun and socialization.

Fun Facts About Dogs

  • Dogs have been human companions for over 15,000 years.
  • They have an incredible sense of smell, up to 100,000 times more sensitive than humans!
  • Dalmatians are born white, and their spots develop as they grow.

Show Your Pup Some Love

However you choose to celebrate, make sure your dog feels loved and appreciated today. What better way to spend time together than being outdoors with your pup in their 2 Fur Doodie, bonding and working together to keep the environment clean!

Dogs teach us about love, loyalty, and joy, so let’s give them the special day they deserve!

Happy National Dog Day to all the amazing pups out there!
